The Bible never tires diligent readers nor ceases to teach committed students. Every passage of Scripture “was written . . . to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope” (Romans 15:4, NIV). We are encouraged to study Bible characters, examples, and stories to glean insight, understanding, and wisdom. Through our imaginations we can translate, learn, and apply lessons to our present experiences. We can seek better ways to use our God given freedom of choice to make wise and discerning decisions. This study guide considers New Jerusalem’s twelve foundation stones described in Revelation 21 as visual aids to examine the lives of twelve women of the Bible. From their lives we can draw insight and understanding to help us victoriously conquer our daily challenges. Our sisters’ stories will encourage and enlighten us if we would but listen to their voices as recorded by the Holy Spirit for our “teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the [woman] of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16, 17).
