God showed out in Papua New Guinea!

BREAKING NEWS

Please pray for Papua New Guinea. A landslide occurred Friday, not far from the location of the Mega Health Clinic where I served. Click here to see more.

Thank you for your prayers and generosity. God truly blessed in Papua New Guinea. Many people accepted Christ at the evangelistic site where I was preaching.

Life is never boring when partnering with God.

The four weeks spent in Papua New Guinea reminds me over and over again that God continues to work miracles. The four-day Mega Health Clinic served more than 10,000 people. It was a difficult experience for me — so many people, so many needs …

I found myself quite useful as the doorkeeper for the cataract eye clinic; patients’ sight were restored in less than two minutes per person!

My photo was on the front page of The National, a newspaper in Papua New Guinea.

More than 10,000 people in Papua New Guinea received medical help during a four-day clinic hosted by hundreds of Adventist medical professionals. Follow the black arrow on the right near the back of the crowd to find me among the volunteers. To see the clinic in action and for a glimpse of the crowds, watch this video.

Then on to the PNG FOR CHRIST evangelistic event.

Thousands upon thousands of people heard about the love of Jesus across the country. At the site where I was the designated speaker, hundreds of people were baptized.

The PNG FOR CHRIST event was a joint effort by the Adventist church’s South Pacific Division office, the Papua New Guinea Union Mission and Adventist World Radio.

The Papua New Guinea Post Courier covered our work, click here to read the news article in their online publication. The Adventist Review, the denomination’s flagship journal, wrote many articles about our work. You can read several of their news stories by clicking here.

I gave to the elderly and disabled people GodPods. Adventist World Radio gifted GodPods (solar-powered audio Bible devices) in their native tongue, Tok Pisin.

The children faithfully took notes. They correctly answered my review questions for a token gift. I wish there had been a special, separate children’s program.

My appeals were especially directed to prodigals, those who had never before accepted Christ, and Christians who were learning more/new Bible truths and growing in their relationship with Christ. I specifically asked those in the shadows and dark areas of the meeting to choose Christ. Then amazing miracles happened. Young men addicted to drugs and other bad habits hiding in the shadows stepped into the light of the Cross!

Hundreds of baptisms were performed from my assigned site, Red Ground. Much work had been done by the church members. This was a reaping campaign (meaning that many people were just waiting for this event to be baptized). After baptism, the men and women received leis and formed a receiving line to be welcomed into the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Before I preached, Serah told children stories that matched the sermon topics. It was wonderful for the adults to hear the material in a simple format.

Yank owns the Mount Ararat Hotel, where I stayed, and is a member of the village church where I unexpectedly preached for Sabbath worship. She is a serious soul winner and a blessed business woman.

In a remote village, I saw this itinerate preacher hold a group spellbound as he used a picture roll to preach Bible truths. His backdrop? Our bus used to travel to the village!

Thank you for praying for me. I wanted to be a clean vessel so God’s Spirit could fill and use me as a faithful co-worker to build the kingdom of God.

He moved.

Keep praying for all those who heard the Word of God. Whether beginning or continuing their journey with Christ, we all know we are in need of prayer to keep growing.

The church members there also have a big work to continue. They had already been inviting people to our meetings and sharing Bible studies. The work doesn’t stop there. Now they will mentor and grow with the new believers.

I received precious gifts from various church members, including bilum bags. Exclusively made by women, these bilum bags have been a part of PNG’s culture for centuries. It is the heart of Papua New Guinean traditions.

These are the leaders for the Warakum Red Ground Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Now, I understand why there are so many churches in Mount Hagen and PNG. Transportation is a challenge. People have to navigate a narrow wooden bridge and slippery slope to reach the Red Ground Church.

Right now, their children meet outside, exposed to the elements.

With all the new members, PNG will need to enlarge existing churches and build new ones. AWR is committed to helping with this massive construction project.

For only $2,000, a church frame and roof can be constructed. Your generous gift can make this happen, right now!

RECENT HAPPENINGS

There is a legal battle between Soul Tribes International Ministries and the City of Detroit over religious freedom protections. The church, known for considering psilocybin mushrooms a religious sacrament, faces closure by the city after a police raid seized psychedelic substances from the premises, sparking a debate on the application of federal law and religious liberties.
